3:00 a.m.

Okay it's 3 a.m. and I'm blogging what's up with that? Well I'll tell you what's up with that. I decided to meet my oldest sister and her daughters and daughter-in law for the big midnight sale at Rockvale. I'm thinking ah there probably won't be a crazy amount of people there it'll be fun to check out the shopping situation I might get some good bargains. So I'm down at the light on 30 just past Walmart and the traffic isn't moving to good and I'm thinking hmm is there an accident or what? Nope, no accident it's just crazy traffic from all the people who think ah there won't be a lot of people out tonight. They were all waiting in line to go to Tanger and Rockvale. It was only like 12:15 when I pull in to Rockvale and there is like hardly no where to park. I'm thinking what is going on here. Found a place to park met my family and did some shopping. Didn't buy a thing. I could feel the moment I walked into the first store that I wasn't going to find anything I wanted to buy that night. The lines were like I've never seen. I did have a mini Crossway reunion. I ran into 4 groups of people right from the git go from church. You all crazy. Anyway I called it a morning and headed home around 2:45a.m.

hey Carol, I woke up at 4:30 and I couldn't go back to sleep so at 5:30 I thought maybe I should check out Target since I'm just tossing and turning. Anyway I get to Target at 5:54 and their was a long line waiting to get in the store which opened at 6:00. I thought this is crazy I don't even know what they have for sale and these professional shopper were huddled with their game plan.
Well I got a few things and got home and now we are making our tradional candy houses.
Sleep well

Carol, you are right; we are all crazy! I really do not think there were that great of bargains that wouldn't be there the next day and the next. Please do not try to tell me there is a problem with the economy that causes people to shun shopping! Apparently, we want our stuff!

At Rockvale, I was able to get the shoes Kara wanted for Christmas, and Michael got his. She got a few other Christmas gifts and then we were curious just to see what it looked like at Tanger. The kids (minus Caleb - did you know he was also with us?) kind of wanted to go to Gap. I could not believe the places people found to park. I feel sorry for the farmer or whomever owns the property on that road next to Starbucks. Cars were all over the place. Someone said they were getting stuck. We actually found a spot out back when someone was leaving and were able to get right into Gap, but then we were pushed and jostled to and fro and I almost got knocked down. Ridiculous. I went to the far end of the line, which snaked all the way through the store, and let the kids shop while I stood in over an hour or more line. They got a few sweaters for a good price.

We took a mini break at home (had added my neice to our number by that time; her friends had had enough and went home; she was still raring to go!) for bathrooms, food and water. The kids wanted to try to stand in line at Park City for free gift cards, we got out there about 3:45 and stood in that line trying to pretend we didn't know Caleb since he kept saying things like, "oh, the line is starting to move." just to see what excitement he could stir up, or "They are giving them out at the other end of the mall." Actually, those were the mild things. Anyway, we scored! We all got our gift bags. And we had gotten $10 cards from the newspaper for
Bon Ton so we used those. H and M had 25% off, etc.etc.

It was fun, but I was loopy and so tired I thought I could not go on. I had worked all day Thanksgiving and then we'd all worked with the meal in the evening so it was getting a little rough. We made it but I don't know if I'll do that again. It's probably like child birth; I'll only remember the good times and turn around and do it again.

By the way Karla, I'm pretty sure most of these people are not professional shoppers; a lot of stores had no particular sale that we could see and people were rushing the doors down. People just want to shop. I guess it's the day most have off.

Merry Christmas, and let us not forget our dear Lord Jesus. Gina

PS: The highlight of my holiday was when my uncle broke out the guitar and we sat around after the dishes were washed and requested songs about Jesus and what He has done for us.
