Friends

I'm thankful for friends. It is so kind of God to give to us our friends to strenghten us and to care for us as well as have a good time with. That's exactly what I got this weekend. Our caregroup had a mini retreat. Our caregroup leaders did a fabulous job of making our retreat a wonderful time of fellowship and fun.
We learned how to play "Black Rook". We played that till about 2a.m. Ladies against men. Happy to say the ladies won but we did not play to 500 like we wanted to so I'm thinking the men are thinking we ain't done yet.
Also had some good discussions and read a very good article on how we must be aware of what we show our children in our unguarded moments. And of course we showed each other that we are definately sinners in need of our Saviour. Which was also good. We know that God uses all things for our good. Thank you Jesus for that.
Then today got to spend some more time with friends. The Landis's came over and watched the race with us kind of. =) Now on to a new week.

Amen to what Carol said! Thanks for the "homeschool prom" dress encouragement! We think we found one, but then the gift card was left at home, so we must return to the dreaded mall yet again!! Oh, woe is me. There must be a reason since there are really no accidents. Maybe we will see another dress before we return to the mall???? Anyway, thanks for the call. Love, Gina

That was a fun weekend. A nice break to our otherwise normal routine. Anyway here is the Biscotti recipe

1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. plus 2 T. flour
3/4 tsp. baking powder
dash of salt
1/2 cup toasted nuts or oatmeal
1/4 c. chocolate chips

Beat together and stir in nut & chips. Then shape into 12 inch log, 2 inches wide, onto greased sheet. Bake at 325 for 30 min. Remove from oven and cool 5 minutes then slice 1/2 to 1 inch strips diagonally. Place on baking sheet on side and toast for 20 minutes at 300 degrees. Then flip and toast other side for 20 minutes.

Any questions give me a call, I'll be over for coffee and biscotti
Love Karla
